Our mission trip to Minot, North Dakota was a huge success this year. This past September we helped out seven families by siding their homes, insulating their attics and walls, sheet-rocking, framing, installing storm doors and most importantly, giving them hope. The first two families we helped families lived side-by-side and we installed vinyl siding for their homes. After two years of working alone on their homes they were mentally and physically drained. Linda, one of the homeowners, had commented that they had lost all motivation to do anything. After spending three days siding their homes, they were excited and smiling again. To show us their appreciation, they cooked us a big dinner of walleye, corn on the cob and cucumber salad (which was exceptional). In this picture we are having a little fun with Terry and Linda, by putting a temporary cross on their house while they were at work.
We were also able to help out a couple of home owners that we met and helped last year. They were happy to see us and very appreciative. Roberta, was very excited to have us complete some framing, insulate & sheet-rock her basement.
We had a great crew of volunteers and want to thank them for accomplishing so much in such a short amount of time. The weather was very hot and the work was physically demanding, but our volunteers cheerfully helped those in need. We would also like to thank the Creator family for supporting us on this mission trip and helping families rebuild their homes. Without your support these trips would not be possible.
