Stewardship: Brought to you by the Letter "I"

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.[NIV]

letter I.jpgSunday September 1, 2013.  Our worship service may as well have been brought to us by the Letter ‘I’.

We installed an Intern, adopted an Interim Pastor, Invited folks to participate in Sunday School, Adult Education, Women’s BBQ, Choir and Music, as well as said an Invocation, some of us even took communion by Intinction! (Ok, we do most of that every Sunday!)

I do want to invite you to consider how you are involved at Creator and invite you to be inspired by how God is working within you to bring meaningful ministry into the world. Do you know how many amazing ways Creator works within and outside of our interior walls to stretch out arms to the innumerable souls who are seeking God?  Each of us has a part in making these ministries happen and when we are generous and joyful in our gifts, the ministries flourish. We invite you to come and spend an hour with the Stewardship Committee to see which ways your "I" fits in to ministries at Creator!

Our fall/winter meetings will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary at Creator on:  Wednesday September 18

Wednesday October 16

Wednesday November 13

Wednesday December 18

In our meetings we spend an hour thinking about how to tell the story of Creator's ministry and inviting congregation members to be Intentional about giving.  We read the Bible or share special verses with each other, and spend a little time reflecting on the notion that ALL we have belongs to God.  How we use gifts is a part of our free will -- and when we're together, we think about the ways each of us contributes in really amazingly different but ALL very Important ways.

We take turns writing articles for the Creator Newsletter.  This year's Newsletter articles will feature ministries that happen thanks to God’s will and God’s joyful and generous people.  September’s article by Glori Walker highlights our mission trips.  Yes, OUR mission trips!  Each of us, by participating through tithes and offerings, are part of these trips, whether we get on the plane or drive there by car or sit in our homes while others among us are out, these trips are OUR opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ in the world.

October will focus on the ministry of Church and Society; November will be Small Groups and Baptism.  Watch for informative (and entertaining!) skits or presentations we are working with fellow ministry teams to present.

Thanks be to God for bringing YOU to Creator, and for the ways that you and I, and all of us can accept God's invitation to become even more fulfilled as we generously and joyfully engage as a part of this community in Christ.
