Worship Services Cancelled

March 13, 2020
Dear Creator Community,
To be faithful to our calling to care for the most vulnerable among us, Creator will cancel in person Sunday and Wednesday worship, all programming, and other events through at least April 1. We have listened to the information from our Governor, Jay Inslee and many in the health and medical community about the importance to work together to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. By practicing “social distance”, we show our love for the neighbor and our
compassion for the community.
As we move through these days of Lent, a time of drawing close to God, we already hear the angels at the tomb, saying “Do not be afraid.” Our decision does not come from fear or panic, but from deep trust that life is stronger than death, love is stronger than fear, and God will take care of the church. Our Lenten discipline has truly become “doing works of love” for the greater good.
The mission of Creator will continue in creative ways during this time of limited programming:
1) Worship on Sunday and Wednesday will be led by Pastor Amanda and musicians and streamed on our Creator Facebook page and posted on our website. You may worship from
your home with us at that time or go to the link at any time that works best for you.
2) You will be invited into additional means of connecting, praying and caring for one another and our community via social media and email. If you want to make sure you are included in information updates and ministry invitations, e-mail office@creatorlutheran.net with your
contact information and cell phone #.
3) IF, and WHEN you need help, do not hesitate for a minute to contact the church. You may call into the office 253-862-7700 or Pastor Amanda directly at 253-470-6924. Together, our church will serve one another and others with the best of what we can give.
4) One of the implications of canceling Sunday morning is that our regular offering will not be collected. It’s essential to support our staff and keep current with our responsibilities, and that we find ways to be generous even while we’re not together. Please mail your offering to the church or give electronically on our website or on the Give Plus app. Knowing that our income could be impacted, we invite those with extra resources to consider making a special gift.
In times of anxiety and crisis, the church finds its true mission to be a beacon of love and peace in the world. Let’s commit to praying for one another, for the church and for the world in this time of global pandemic. We know that it is often the most vulnerable that are more deeply affected by crisis.  Reach out to those who may be isolated. Send a card to encourage a neighbor. Pray for your pastor and staff. Breathe deeply into God’s grace to calm your fear. We have hope because Christ is with us. In the midst of this anxious time, of fear, uncertainty and ripples of impact, we know that Christ takes this all upon himself on the cross and give us new life in the resurrection.

Please share this information with members of our community we do not have access to facebook or email.
Christ is with all of us,
Pastor Amanda Olson de Castillo and Creator Church Council
