Middle School

Early adolescence is an important time in the spiritual development of a child. This is a time when thinking begins to shift from concrete concepts to more abstract. The child can form their own faith questions as opposed to believing or behaving as they are expected to by adults. Peer friendships begin to have a larger impact on the thinking of early teens. The key to fostering continued faith development is to provide a safe place with a circle of peers and adults who are on a similar spiritual journey.

The Confirmation program at Creator provides such a place for adolescent spiritual growth. But not all youth who are interested in such an experience are required to participate in the full confirmation experience. We have plenty of teens who participate on a drop-in basis or may belong to other faith communities. We also have teens that just participate in our mission trips. If you and/or your child have an interest in Creator’s youth activities, please contact our Youth Director, Terri Heckroth at 253 862-7700. Also check out our Confirmation page and Mission Trips page (under the “Serving” tab on our website) to get a glimpse of activities.

Presentation of Bibles to Children

Presentation of Bibles to

Kindergartner through 6th Graders.

As God’s people, we value the scriptures and desire for children to grow in understanding and use of the scriptures as they mature.  For this reason, Creator will present to our young members (Kindergarten through 6th Grade), an age-appropriate Bible on Sunday, October 18 after Worship service is over (about 10:45am).

This will be a Drive Through activity with families stopping at a few stations in the parking lot to discover the Bible through an easy scavenger hunt of Bible information.  Prizes will be awarded at each station.

Please sign up so we know how many Bibles to have available.

Affirmation of Baptism Sunday, October 25

The following young people will be making their Affirmation of Baptism on Sunday, October 25 at a special Worship service at 9:30am.  Since we cannot have more than 50 people in the sanctuary at this time during the pandemic, we need to limit In-Person Worship attendance to the Confirmands and their families on that day.  Please join the celebration by watching on Facebook live, Zoom, or later on our YouTube channel.

Virtual Sunday School

Hi Sunday School Families,

We sure miss you all and hope you are doing well and staying healthy!

We found a fun craft to do for Holy Week! It is a Holy Week calendar, where you do a small craft every day this week. It also includes a memory verse and a song for each day.

Here is an example on Pinterest so you can see what it looks like:

Here is a breakdown of what they did for each day:

Worship Services Cancelled

March 13, 2020
Dear Creator Community,
To be faithful to our calling to care for the most vulnerable among us, Creator will cancel in person Sunday and Wednesday worship, all programming, and other events through at least April 1. We have listened to the information from our Governor, Jay Inslee and many in the health and medical community about the importance to work together to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. By practicing “social distance”, we show our love for the neighbor and our
compassion for the community.
As we move through these days of Lent, a time of drawing close to God, we already hear the angels at the tomb, saying “Do not be afraid.” Our decision does not come from fear or panic, but from deep trust that life is stronger than death, love is stronger than fear, and God will take care of the church. Our Lenten discipline has truly become “doing works of love” for the greater good.
The mission of Creator will continue in creative ways during this time of limited programming:
