Youth and Family

The mission of Creator’s Youth and Family Ministry team is to bring God’s Children closer to their Heavenly Father. Through discussion of the word and sharing of fellowship we hope to deepen our children’s faith and develop a life-long relationship with Christ.

Our youth ministry deliberately guides young people into Christian discipleship by:

  • Involving youth and their families in a safe and Christian community,
  • Encouraging them to live spiritually rich, God-centered lives,
  • And preparing them to impact their world for Christ.

Virtual Sunday School

Hi Sunday School Families,

We sure miss you all and hope you are doing well and staying healthy!

We found a fun craft to do for Holy Week! It is a Holy Week calendar, where you do a small craft every day this week. It also includes a memory verse and a song for each day.

Here is an example on Pinterest so you can see what it looks like:

Here is a breakdown of what they did for each day:

Worship Services Cancelled

March 13, 2020
Dear Creator Community,
To be faithful to our calling to care for the most vulnerable among us, Creator will cancel in person Sunday and Wednesday worship, all programming, and other events through at least April 1. We have listened to the information from our Governor, Jay Inslee and many in the health and medical community about the importance to work together to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. By practicing “social distance”, we show our love for the neighbor and our
compassion for the community.
As we move through these days of Lent, a time of drawing close to God, we already hear the angels at the tomb, saying “Do not be afraid.” Our decision does not come from fear or panic, but from deep trust that life is stronger than death, love is stronger than fear, and God will take care of the church. Our Lenten discipline has truly become “doing works of love” for the greater good.
The mission of Creator will continue in creative ways during this time of limited programming:

Senior High Youth

High School students are invited to spend some time during this Lenten season visiting different Worship Spaces.  We are proud of our Lutheran roots, and we like to hear stories from our own faith background.  But we also want to discuss faith with our neighbors and friends, so we have chosen to experience a taste of the Worship practices of people from other faith backgrounds.  This year, we will visit 2 different sites.  This is the schedule:

Saturday, March 21 at noon--Hindu Festival of Holi at Marymoor Park in Redmond.

This is a Festival of Color.  Bring $5 for color packets and money for lunch.

Meet at Creator at 11am.  We return about 6pm

Sunday, March 22 at 5pm--St. Therese Catholic Parish in Seattle

This is a Catholic Mass with a fun and upbeat Gospel Choir

Meet at Creator at 3:30pm.  We’ll return about 7:30pm

Our Confirmation Students would like to pray for you during the season of Lent!  Please state your prayer request on a strip of paper (students will be handing them out before services on Sundays and Wednesdays during Lent), and turn them in to the collection plate.  Confirmation students will create a paper chain while praying for each request.

Family Sunday School

family_sunday_school_1.jpg

Please join us for FAMILY SUNDAY SCHOOL!  This new approach to learning and exploring God’s Kingdom comes from a desire to

·       Equip families to carry out Christian practices at home

·       Combine Christian Education with Mission and Service

·       Incorporate Faith formation into the Worship Service

·       Facilitate multigenerational discussion and wonderment about Bible Stories and God’s message for us today.

For these reasons, we would like to invite ALL to join us in Creator Family Sunday School.  All ages are welcome!  Parents, Grandparents, and siblings will eat breakfast together, hear a Bible Story, wonder and discuss the story, and learn some new music—all together!  Service projects will also be a big part of our time together.
